Patients on regular medication can obtain repeat prescriptions, subject to regular review by the doctor.
Please note that straightforward repeat prescriptions requests will be available for collection 4 days from receipt of the request. Any prescriptions requiring alteration or updating by a doctor, will not be ready for collection until a week later.
You can order repeat medication in the following ways:
- Online – If you are registered with the online service you can request medication through this facility.
- In Surgery – You can come into the Surgery and drop your repeat prescription slip in the box just inside the automatic doors.
- Pharmacy Services – A number of the local chemists offer a prescription management service for patients. Please enquire at reception if you would like more information or click here

Changes to Prescribing at this Surgery
Prescribing Team
Kingsway Surgery have implemented a prescribing team, who have the responsibility of processing the multitude of prescription requests that we receive on a daily basis. The aim of this team is to deliver a streamlined process for our patients and help achieve an efficient turnaround of prescriptions so that no one is left without medication.
Please help our team achieve their goals by ordering your requests in a timely fashion, such as a week before you are due to run out of medication. Bear in mind that if you order your request too early, it may be rejected. We will also be putting some messages on your prescriptions to remind you of some actions you need to take, such as attending a medication review or blood test. In the case of electronic prescriptions that are sent directly to your pharmacy, your pharmacist should advise on any messages we have for you, so please help us to look after your healthcare by responding to those messages too.
