PRESCRIPTIONS OVER THE FESTIVE PERIOD

We kindly ask patients to ensure they order their prescriptions in plenty of time this month due to the festive period. This will ensure we can process the same in time for your medication due date. If you are going away over Christmas, please put a note with your prescription request so we can issue it slightly earlier. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee any urgent requests will be processed the same day.

CHRISTMAS JUMPER MONTH

Throughout the month of December, surgery staff will be wearing their best Christmas jumpers and festive wear in order to raise money for the charity Save the Children. Save the Children ensures children in the UK and around the world have access to food, medicine and education. If you would like to donate to the cause, there is a link available on our social media (Twitter, Facebook and our Website Homepage)

CHRISTMAS CLOSURES

The surgery will be closed from Friday 23rd December at 6:30pm and will reopen on Wednesday 28th December at 8:00am.

Following this, we will then close on Friday 30th December at 6:30pm and will reopen on Tuesday 3rd January 2023 at 8:00am.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our patients a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

NON-ATTENDANCES

Following on from last month’s article, we continue to notice an increase in non-attendances for appointments at the surgery. We would like to once again stress that it is important to cancel an appointment if you can no longer attend. This also extends to telephone consultations. Cancelling an appointment means it then becomes available for someone else who may really need it.

If you have difficulties calling to cancel, please contact us through Engage Consult, email (Kingswaypractice.noreply@nhs.net) or submitting a Cancel an Appointment form through the website.

If the amount of appointment non-attendances continues to increase at this level, the practice will have no choice but to begin implementing stricter methods in an effort to combat this. Potentially, continued non-attendance may mean removal from our patient list.

FLU AND COVID CLINICS 2022

We have now ceased administration of the autumn booster covid vaccination. However, we have a limited supply of flu vaccinations remaining. Should you still wish to have your flu vaccination, please call the surgery to check availability.

REFFERAL WAIT TIMES

There continues to be extended wait times across all hospital departments due to the ongoing recovery from the pandemic. If a referral has been made for you, you can view the current department wait times at the bottom of our website homepage, or alternatively ring the booking office for updates (0300 303 1563). Once surgery clinicians have made the referral, wait times and appointments for the same are out of the practice’s hands and there is very little we can do to expedite matters.
